Philanthropy
What is Philanthropy and why is it important?
Today, philanthropy means generosity in all its forms and is often defined as giving gifts of “time, talent and treasure” to help make life better for other people. You can practice philanthropy by making a monetary gift, such as a donation to a cause you believe in.
Within the Womans club of Lakeside we set our Philanthropy projects for each year which we work towards for the good of our club and the community.
Our projects are ongoing with many of our dedicated members volunteering to chair and give their time and effort. At our monthly meetings updates are shared with the group in regard to next steps, items that may be required and always asking for others to join in.
Volunteering for such worthy causes gives one a feeling of happiness and joy. Our chair people can always use some extra hands and help.

We held a “Baby Shower” for Gently Hugged. They accept donations and distribute to them at the hospitals for parents in need.
